RBT is a browser based query and reporting application backed by scalable J2EE technology. The Administrator application provides role based security setup and user/group access control.
Features: RBT is a browser based query and reporting tool. The Administrator application can provide role based security setup. User group and access control can be set up through the application to database tables and columns. The document runner provides interface for document selection and execution for end users. A tree based view displays documents available to the current user. A user can access user-created documents and documents assigned to the user`s groups. The document runner also provides drill down capabilities which are available for the displayed document. To display a list of drill down document candidates click on a result row of the currently executing document. Documents created in the RBT designer that specify required runtime parameters are potential drill down candidates. It is important to note that the drill down columns are matched by the fully qualified column names where the fully qualified name is of the form [catalog].[schema].[table].[column] where the individual parts exist.
User-friendly names can be assigned to database tables and columns for display in all areas of the Designer application to enhance query and report design by non-technical users. The Designer can be configured to display and/or hide more advanced options such as SQL statement display and custom column creation. Users are presented with a simple tree view for column selection and tabs for select, filter and HTML output design. Results can be exported to Excel spreadsheets if the program is installed on the user`s machine.
Overall: Whole range of features that make viewing of database table & columns very easy.
